You may not be familiar with Moses just yet, but it is only a matter of time.  The classically trained baritone has always been drawn to creative outlets.  Initially discouraged in these pursuits by conservative parents in his native Israel, the world traveler and performance artist found a home in New York City’s club scene – where his musical ambitions began to thrive.  The release of his first single “I’m Your Man,” featuring pop group XELLE, catapulted him into the spotlight with the provocative video quickly reaching over 200,000 views on YouTube.  Building upon his success and never one to remain idle for long, Moses will release a remix of “I’m Your Man” on August 21st in addition to new single “I Always Say Goodbye”, on September 18th- both of which have been remixed by Jerome Farley and the Del Pino Bros.  A debut EP titled Predictions: Vol. 1 will also be released later this year.

Produced by Billboard Pop Songwriting Award winnerZach Adam, the music of Moses features a dichotomy of themes and emotion – dark and ominous at times, but paired with an upbeat sound focused on positivity.  Inspiration can be found nearly anywhere for the singer.  “I’m Your Man” was heavily influenced by 80’s new wave pop with a modern twist – driven by its dirty synth sound, heavy beats and unique vocals from a well trained musician that give the song a heavenly allure.  With so much for his new fans to look forward to, Moses is an artist that is in the business of making music for the right reasons.

Dance recording artist Moses talks to Suite101 about his latest single "I'm Your Man" (featuring Xelle) and his upcoming single "I Always Say Goodbye."

On Monday, August 13, 2012, Suite101 chatted via telephone with dance recording artist Moses. A classically trained baritone, Moses opens up about his latest single “I’m Your Man” (a collaboration with Xelle) and his forthcoming album.

Influences and Favorite Artists

Growing up in Israel, Moses played the flute and studied opera, prior to shifting to electro-pop music. “I love the energy, the sounds and the beat of the electronic dance scene. I love the feel of music,” he says.

One of his all-time favorite bands is the English rock group Queen, and Moses enjoys listening to an eclectic mix of female artists ranging from Madonna, Robyn, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Jessie J and M.I.A

New Album

His newest album, Predictions, is expected to come out later this year. It was produced by award-winning songwriter Zach Adam. “Zach is amazing! Even though we have a love-hate relationship, the majority of it is love. It’s definitely a partnership,” he says.

“I’m Your Man”

The CD includes his single “I’m Your Man” which features fellow dance trio Xelle and it deals with the

concept of masculinity. “It has a funny side to it and a deep message as well,” he says. “I love Xelle. These girls are fearless, creative and very expressive of themselves.”

His music video has received well over 200,000 views on YouTube, thus making him a viral phenomenon. “That feels great and unreal. I am very excited and in awe of what is going on, considering it’s the first video that I have ever released,” he says.

Moses noted that a remix of the single is expected to be released on August 21, 2012. “It’s a heavy house dance remix,” he says.

With no signs of slowing down, Moses is releasing his second single “I Always Say Goodbye” on September 18, 2012. “We made it more fun, upbeat and dance-driven, so I am ready to share it with the world,” he says.

Future Plans: Tour in the Works

Moses notes that he is working on an international tour, where he hopes to play in South America, as well as the United States. He is also slated to film a music video for the third single for the record, which is expected to be the title track cut.
